Eden’s Little Penguin Art Competition

The kids of the Bega Valley are invited to paint, collage or draw an artwork to help raise awareness of our growing Little Penguin colony in Two Fold Bay.

Steps to Enter

  1. Complete the online Entry Form

  2. Write the Artist’s First & Last Name + Age on the back of the artwork OR

  3. Pick up a postcard around Eden and fill out the label and attach it

  4. Hand the artwork into a participating school or library

Competition Rules & Information

  • Entries must be handed in to a participating school or library by 24th September.

    You do not need to be attending a participating school to enter the competition. All children are welcome!

    • Eden Public School

    • Eden Marine High School

    • Lumen Christi Catholic College

    Libraries

    • Eden Library

    • Tura Beach Library

    • Prizes have been kindly donated by local businesses

    • Prizes are allocated between age categories determined by the Little Penguin Community Group

    • Age categories may be combined depending on the number of entries for an age group

    • Awarded at Awards Ceremony, details to be announced

    • Theme - Little Penguins and their environment

    • Must be on paper (not board)

    • Can be digital in design, but must be submitted in hard copy on paper

    • Must be no bigger than A3 size (297mm x 420mm)

    • Can be vertical or horizontal

    • Any art materials or combination of art materials may be used (eg paint, pencil, pastels, paper collage) but the artwork must be two-dimensional

    • No glitter

    • The relevance of the artwork to the theme

    • Artistic and creative interpretation of the theme

    • Originality and the level of effort

    • Judges will award a winning entry in each age category

    • Age categories may be combined depending on the number of entries for an age group

    • One entry per child

    • Ages under 18 years old

    • Entry form must be submitted online by Parent or Guardian

    • Must be submitted to participating school or library by 24th September

    • Artworks will be on a roving display through Bega Valley to help raise awareness of our Little Penguin colony

    • Artworks may be displayed on Little Penguins Eden website and social media pages

    • Artworks may be used to create merchandise like tea towels and t-shirts to raise funds for the Little Penguin project

Winners have the chance to receive whale watching tours, art supplies, art classes, gift vouchers, gift hampers, a fishing rod and reel, and entry passes to local attractions including the Sapphire Aquatic Centre, Eden Killer Whale Museum, Merimbula Aquarium, and Potoroo Palace.
